Planning a student-driven episode (and a professional one)
Matt and I were discussing having a student-driven episodes, with the guests being completely student-driven, and the issues being brought up by these listeners.
We both think it’s a great idea and are really excited about it. Here’s how it works, and here’s what we’d like from you. (One note, we’d love to do something similar with mid-level and senior designers in the field too. If you’re interested in that, most definitely send us an email!)
First, this will be for an upcoming episode—not sure of the release date yet. We’d like to have 4 different interviews/discussions, lasting about 12 minutes each. Each one will just be the guest (namely you), Matt and I. These 4 interviews will be separate (for audio quality issues, so that everyone can get a word in edge wise, and to mix and match an interesting show.) We’ll later piece them together into an episode.
So far, we have two segments planned with guests. One will be continuing on from some of our web design discussions, and one will be continuing from our logo design and mark making conversation from last week.
We still need two more. So please, we’d love to have you on! Send us an email at readbetweentheleading@gmail.com if you have something you really want to talk about and think would make for a great discussion. Be ready to be on the show as well (Matt and I are very easy to schedule with). We’d like for it to be something aside from identities and web design since we have those two covered.
One other thing, I’d really like for one of our guests to be a student from outside the U.S., and if anyone has any ideas for discussion on the differences in cultures or countries and design right now, that would be great.
Lastly, I’d like to say thank you all so much for your support and listening. Matt and I are continually humbled by the insightful comments we get via email, the comments here, calls, etc. We read absolutely everything, even if we haven’t had a chance to respond, and we appreciate every bit of it. It definitely keeps us quite excited and quite passionate.
Thanks again, and can’t wait to see what you’d like to talk about.
Aaron
